On June 9, 2017, CMAA awarded SIE the Project of the Year under the M/W/DBE Managed Category for its Union Turnpike Retaining Wall Project. The project entailed the reconstruction of the retaining wall along Union Turnpike adjacent to Grand Central Parkway and Jackie Robinson Parkway. The retaining walls had safety conditions due to deficiencies, and the project team worked diligently to safely manage those conditions while repairing the wall. The project was completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
