Elias Boumis, PE, SIE’s Vice President and leader of our Bridge Engineering group, represented SIE at the 12th International Cable Supported Bridge Operators Conference (ICSBOC) at West Point this week. A subject matter expert in bridge inspection, Elias presented two papers, “Rope Access Methodology and Techniques for Long-Span Bridges and Other Structures” and “MTA Bridges and Tunnels Biennial Inspections Before AASHTO’s Bridge Element Inspection and Its Use for Capital Programming,” which explore the advantages of rope access techniques for inspection of long span bridges, as well as how bridge inspection data and Asset Inventory and Condition Assessment (AICA) assist MTA C&D with their 20-Year Needs Assessment program. SIE is proud to have team members like Elias who keep us at the forefront of innovation and advancement in such a vital engineering field.
