As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) performed a condition survey of FedEx Buildings 155, 156, 341, 347 and Old Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport. This project involved a visual and hands-on inspection of the terminals in accordance with PA Quality Assurance Guidelines for Condition Survey of Buildings in order to determine the overall condition of structures and identify structural and non-structural deficiencies.
The inspection included measurements and documentation of the suspended ceiling and soffit and the spacing of each component part to permit a comparison to the Port Authority’s ceiling design and evaluation criteria. Access equipment included walking, ladders, and aerial lifts. Upon completion of the inspection, a condition survey report was completed for each terminal. The report included an overall rating, tables which document conditions, including locations and repair recommendations, condition of major structural components, increase or decrease in number of all repairs, and other pertinent information.
