As the Prime Consultant, SI Engineering, P.C., (SIE) provided construction inspection services for repairs to the NYS Route 27 westbound bridge over Barnes Road, including steel repairs and deck repairs, in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County. The work included eliminating existing joints and replacing the wearing surface to improve mobility, reliability, and safety.
SIE provided full resident engineering / construction inspection services, including on-site field testing of materials and other construction activities as necessary, submitting monthly and final estimates and progress reports, and preparing record plans showing all changes from the contract plans. All records were kept in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) including SiteManager and EBO. SIE’s Resident Engineer maintained the Engineer’s Daily Project Diary describing the progress of the work, specific problems encountered, and other pertinent information relative to the execution of the contract work. SIE worked proactively to achieve timely completion of the work and monitored contract progress by regularly evaluating the contractor’s personnel and equipment.
