SI Engineering was recently awarded a contract for a highway lighting study and improvements on the Long Island Expressway (I-485) and other high-priority corridors in Region 11. The goal of the project is to identify and evaluate lighting deficiencies through a lighting study. Through this study, the project will scope and propose improvements to lighting infrastructure in the project areas to improve safety and reduce crash rates. Corridors being evaluated include:
- Long Island Expressway (I-485) from Grand Central Parkway to Springfield Blvd, Queens County
- Henry Hudson Parkway (NY-9A) from 125th Street to Dyckman St, New York County
- Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) from I-95/Cross Bronx Expressway to City Line, Bronx County
- Bronx River Parkway (907H) from Pelham Parkway to Gun Hill Rd, Bronx County
- Henry Hudson Parkway (NY-9A) from Kappock St to Mosholu Parkway, Bronx County
- Jackie Robinson Parkway (NY 908B) from Grand Central Parkway to Cypress Hills St, Queens County
SIE was retained as a subconsultant by JMT of New York, Inc. to provide civil, electrical, and traffic engineering support services, as well as community outreach.
