As the Prime Consultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided construction inspection services for this critical safety project. The main objective was to replace worn and faded pavement markings on a regular basis to assure that the public was given appropriate guidance along the roadway. In addition, this project was used to modify existing markings to address any identified safety concerns; without proper pavements markings on the roadway, the safe and orderly flow of traffic for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians was heavily impacted. The locations on this contract were throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties on various state highways. Additional locations were added via work orders from the Regional Traffic and Safety group.
