As the prime consultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided construction management services at Stewart International Airport. Projects under this contract included site work such as raising of runway lights, chiller replacement, and addition of neural cables at the airport. Work also included the construction of a 20,000 square-foot federal inspection service facility as an addition to the existing terminal to facilitate customs and border protection operations. SIE was responsible for any administrative tasks, including but not limited to maintaining supply stocks, collecting and relaying all timekeeping records for consultants and labor, updating software on a regular basis, preparing monthly reports, and verifying employee rates using certified payrolls. SIE reviewed, audited calculations, and recorded demographic information before submitting for approval. SIE also reviewed all payment applications and processed tenant alteration request forms, along with all other associated tasks.
SIE staff prioritized and scheduled meetings, inspections, and conference calls; tracked and updated change orders, net cost conversions, and payment applications; and assisted in preparing and reviewing contractor / subcontractor performance evaluations, insurance requirements, and reference checks. Tasks also included compiling and relaying confidential information, tracking and following up on work orders, processing and tracking post-award contract changes, reviewing documents for accuracy, and tracking documents through the approval process.
SIE was additionally responsible for conducting desk audits of contractor billings, ensuring that proper documentation was received from contractors for all aspects of the contract, and monitoring correspondence. SIE recorded all meetings and prepared meeting minutes, enforced contract compliance regarding document control and submittals, and assisted in compiling closeout documentation for review and submittal. SIE staff supported the Resident Engineer, Inspector, and Foreman and prepared, relayed, tracked, and updated agendas.
