SI Engineering Awarded NYSDOT Active Traffic Management Contract as the Prime Consultant

SI Engineering was recently awarded a NYSDOT contract for Construction Inspection Services for Cross Bronx Expressway Active Traffic Management in Region 11. Under this contract, SIE will provide construction inspection services for the deployment of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) field equipment such as cameras, variable message signs, detectors, communications, and an electric power conduit system. The overall aim of this project is to improve safety and mobility along the Cross Bronx Expressway Corridor by employing active traffic management (ATM) strategies. The scope of work also includes the removal of three (3) existing overhead sign structures and the construction of six (6) new overhead sign structures and one (1) new sign cantilever, in addition to retrofitting seven (7) existing overhead sign structures with median barrier and guide rail replacements and landscaping.
