SI Engineering Awarded NYSDOT Culvert Replacement Contract as the Prime Consultant

SI Engineering was recently awarded a NYSDOT contract for Construction Inspection services for NY 27A Over Amityville Creek Culvert Replacement in Region 10. Under this contract, SIE will provide construction inspection services to restore the aging culvert and provide a 70-year design service life. Merrick Road will be reconstructed between Ocean Avenue and Grand Central Avenue and raised to reduce the potential for flooding during severe weather events. Additionally, the project will improve safety and traffic flow by introducing drop off protection at the culvert crossing, bike lanes in both directions, and new sidewalks, as well as adding a new eastbound left turn lane at the Ocean Avenue intersection.
