Condition Survey of PATH Structures West of Penn Station Newark

As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) performed a cyclical condition survey of various PATH structures and prepared and delivered the condition survey report to PANYNJ. The structures inspected included Lafayette Street, Green Street, Elm Street, Walnut Street, Cottage Street, East Kinney Street, Oliver Street, Chestnut Street, Pennington Street, and Tichenor Street crossings, as well as McCarter Highway retaining walls, flyover structure, and CNJ Bridge.

SIE performed condition surveys and structural inspections of the PATH tunnels to ensure safe operations. Visual and hands-on inspections were conducted to identify potential problems in the tunnels. The assignment also required monitoring of structural elements and documentation of the various forms of deterioration. SIE was also responsible for preparing a condition survey report upon completion of the inspection. The report included overall rating, increase or decrease in number of priority repairs, and all other pertinent information gathered from the inspection, as well as color photographs of significant elements, complete deficiency location plans, and prioritization of conceptual recommendations for any rehabilitation or repairs.
