As a Prime Consultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) performed an inspection of 919 Overhead Sign Structures (OSS) and High-Mast Structures (HMS), including report preparation, inventory verification and / or updating, analysis of OSS and HMS (when directed by the Department), and provided means of access and traffic control for consultant inspection teams. Miscellaneous work included installing hand hole covers, post caps, SIN labels or signage, and / or cotter pins during the inspection of the structures.
Structures included span, cantilever, mast structures carrying signs including Variable Message Signs (VMS), and high-mast structures carrying lights or other equipment, including all bridge-mounted structures carrying signs.
All inspections and miscellaneous work performed under this project was completed in accordance with NYSDOT’s Overhead Sign Structure Inventory and Inspection Manual and met the requirements, including, but not limited to, Department Technical Advisories (TA), Engineering Bulletins (EB), and Engineering Instructions (EI). Requirements in other publications were also applicable as indicated in the OSS Manual or as directed by the Department.
