Hydrologic and Hydraulic Study and Design of Undergrade Bridges

As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided field inspection and reporting services for the structural defects of eight (8) undergrade bridges on MNR’s Hudson and Harlem Lines. Based on a separate hydrologic and hydraulic analysis study, recommendations were made for the replacement of super and / or substructures of the eight (8) bridges.

The structural elements were assessed in the field for any changes from previous in-depth inspection findings, including field measurements, sketches / notes, and photographs. Steel and concrete elements were evaluated in depth to identify the level of repair required. Inspection access included row boat, waders, and ladders.

SIE prepared inspection reports for each track inspected, including detailed photos, priority ratings, and descriptions. Each report also included a summary of findings and recommendations.
