SI Engineering, P.C., has provided structural design, biennial and condition inspections, and recommendations on various projects at JFK International Airport
- BIENNIAL INSPECTIONS OF ROADWAY BRIDGES – As a subconsultant, SIE performed biennial inspections of 35 roadway bridges at JFK Airport. The scope of work included structural inspection and report preparation in compliance with the latest requirements of the New York State Department of Transportation. SIE also prepared the condition survey reports for this project. Hands-on inspections and assessments were conducted, including sounding of concrete to identify voids and potential problems. SIE evaluated various components’ conditions, and prioritized repair recommendations. Inspection reports were prepared, including supporting documents with recommendations, and submitted to the Port Authority.
- CONDITION SURVEY OF AIR TRAIN GUIDEWAY STRUCTURE – This project involved condition inspection of the JFK AirTrain Guideway Jamaica portion, which connects Jamaica Transit station and Federal Circle. As a subconsultant, SIE was responsible for condition surveys and structural inspections of these guideway structures to ensure continuous safe operation. Walk-through and hands-on inspections and assessments were conducted to identify potential problems. SIE evaluated various components’ conditions, and prioritized repair recommendations. Inspection reports were prepared including supporting documents with recommendations and submitted to the Port Authority.
- AIR TRAIN STATIONS – SIE performed condition survey of all structures. Reports were prepared, indicating defects in the structural members and providing recommendations for repairs.
