As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided all structural inspection and load rating services of the existing station structures. Structural inspections and load rating services included the existing conditions inspection of station canopies, platform supports, viaduct structure, and the N. Carll Avenue Bridge, as well as load rating of the existing viaduct structure and N. Carll Avenue Bridge.
Tasks included preparing inspection reports with suggested remedies and assisting in assessing the feasibility of the proposed structural modification based on the results of the load rating studies and inspections. This included the feasibility of increasing the thickness of platforms that were being replaced and the potential impact on the existing structure. SIE staff members also prepared drawings, narratives, and specifications and input into the basis of the design documents.
