As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided PS&E documents for a total of eleven (11) steel and concrete bridge structures, as well as preliminary and final design services for the preparation of bridge repair details for various bridges in the Bronx and Manhattan. The purpose of the project was to develop repair details that provided corrective measures to address the removal of existing flags and to raise the bridges’ current condition ratings.
Tasks performed included field inspections, evaluation of deteriorated bridge elements, load ratings for both the as-inspected and the corrective action conditions, preparation of repair and replacement plans, cost estimates, traffic data collection, and preparation of site-specific maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) plans. Extensive coordination with various agencies, including the NYCDOT Office of Construction Mitigation and Coordination (OCMC), was required for approval of the MPT plans. In addition, SIE provided construction support services for the eleven (11) bridges.
