As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) assisted in the Asset Management Program for NYCOMB. The team was responsible for performing surveys of assets using AIMS methodology, which included selecting from a computer menu to identify the component type or material, the current condition, expected repair, and remaining life of the component after repair. Hazardous conditions were reported immediately and documented with a letter.
The team uploaded survey data, provided quality checks to ensure accuracy, and signed off on reasonableness of cost estimates when survey reports were compiled with cost information. Additionally, the team updated unit costs for construction and maintenance on a periodic basis, which were comprised of labor, material, and equipment costs. This information was utilized to maintain up-to-date cost estimates for maintenance and repairs.
