This project involved the upgrade of pedestrian ramps at 42 complex corners in Manhattan. These locations had potential conflicts with bioswales and required tree removal and pruning, or were located near City-owned bridges and / or ongoing capital and street improvement projects. As the Prime Consultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided resident engineering inspection services.
The goal of this project was to repair existing pedestrian ramps in the borough and upgrade them to ADA and PROWAG specifications to the maximum amount feasible, providing ADA-compliant ramps for at least 25 years to come. SIE staff were responsible for inspecting the ramps and ensuring that work was compliant with all relevant plans and specifications.
