As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided construction inspection services for this project. The scope of work involved installation of transmit readers and travel time signs that provide real travel time information to motorists along the Long Island Expressway, from Main Street to the Nassau County line, and along the Grand Central Parkway, from Kew Gardens to the Nassau County line. SIE inspection staff monitored construction operations and coordinated activities of the ITS CI staff. The new equipment was interfaced with the existing equipment located in the Joint Transportation Management Center (JTMC) in Long Island City.
