Construction Administration, Inspection and Design Oversight Services for Replacement of Tower Elevators and Miscellaneous Structural Rehabilitation at the Marine Parkway – Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge

As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided construction inspection services for the replacement of tower elevators at the Marine Parkway – Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge.

SIE was responsible for verifying that the design-builder’s work conformed to the contract documents and applicable codes, standards, drawings, and specifications. Construction inspection duties included written inspection records, preparation of Inspector’s Daily Reports, oversight of on-site field testing of materials, field testing, data collection, and any other activities necessary to submit monthly and final estimates and progress reports, development of punch-list items, and preparation of record plans. SIE conducted inspections, monitored and verified the design-builder’s QA/QC procedures, performed verification testing, and evaluated all inspection reports.

SIE staff oversaw and monitored the testing and commissioning of all vertical transportation (VT) activities, as well as overseeing, managing, coordinating, and confirming the design-builder’s submittals, including test plans, procedures, results, reports, installation manuals and specifications, design and as-built drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and any other required materials, equipment, and documentation. SIE staff performed the testing and commissioning audit of submittals, the design-builder’s VT commissioning agent’s T&C metrics, and specifications provided by the commissioning agent. Additional responsibilities included performing field installation inspections and witnessing system integration testing, system functional testing, and system operation performance testing.
