This project involved design services to repair deficient or damaged steel elements of state-owned bridges in various locations in all boroughs of New York City. The purpose of the assignment was to assist and supplement NYSDOT’s resources for providing emergency structural red and yellow flag repairs and addressing deficient conditions on state-owned bridges in Region 11, including Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, and Richmond Counties.
As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided all professional engineering services necessary to prepare work orders and repair details to address red and yellow flag repairs and deficient conditions at approximately 10 of 38 locations, with varying complexities. The scope of work consisted of site visits to the bridge locations, evaluation of each bridge’s conditions, and preparation of design repair details through the development of work order and flag repair detail packages.
