As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided construction management and inspection services for the deteriorated deck replacement of three (3) bridges in the Bronx. The complete deck replacement incorporated high-performance concrete, new transverse expansion joints and dams, beam guide rails, and repaved approach roadways. SIE performed daily inspections and materials QA/QC testing, developed complex MPT requirements, and managed schedule for bridge closures and detours. The team also managed cleanliness and painted the structural steel and drainage structures. The three (3) bridges included:
- Castle Hill Avenue over I-287 Bruckner Expressway – this is a 3-span steel structure which is 160 feet long and 96 feet wide.
- Pennyfield Avenue over I-695 Throgs Neck Expressway – this is a 4-span steel structure which is 230 feet long and 70 feet wide.
- Lafayette Avenue over I-695 Throgs Neck Expressway – this is a 2-span steel structure which is 170 feet long and 70 feet wide.
