Construction Management Services for Various School Construction Projects

As the Prime Consultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided contingent and temporary staff to supplement NYCSCA’s in-house construction management staff to assist in delivering projects at its various facilities in all five boroughs. SIE staff were responsible for managing all aspects of school construction projects of varying complexity and visibility throughout all stages of construction. Tasks included administering, coordinating, and monitoring daily activities and ensuring the quality of work on each project. SIE staff also served as the liaison for all stakeholders, negotiated with contractors, and played a key role in the completion of each project by working with senior technical staff in interpreting contract documents, shop drawing submittal / approval, and other technical matters to ensure compliance with design documents and codes. Additional tasks included review of contractor claims, documentation of disputed work, and project controls.
