Consultant Construction Management Services for Miscellaneous Structural Repairs at the Throgs Neck Bridge

This project involved repairs to the Mainline – Queens Approach, Ramp A, and Ramp B at the Throgs Neck Bridge. As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided office engineering services.

At the Mainline – Queens Approach, the scope of work involved repairing areas of spalled concrete at the begin abutment backwall and begin abutment cheek wall, as well as protective coating of abutments, backwalls, wingwalls, and retaining walls. Other items of work included cleaning and painting of steel and structural steel repairs. At Ramp A, work involved repairing areas of spalls at the pier columns and pier caps, sealing cracks, removing and replacing the drainage system, clearing, grubbing, and landscape replacement. Additional work at Ramp A included cleaning and painting of steel and concrete piers and structural steel repairs. The scope at Ramp B consisted of repairing areas of spalls at the pier columns, pier caps, end abutment, wingwalls, and retaining walls at the end abutment, as well as repairing spalled pedestals. Additional work included cleaning and painting of concrete piers and steel, structural steel repairs, removing and replacing the drainage system, clearing, grubbing, and landscape replacement.
