As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided a cyclical condition survey and reporting for all on-grade sign structures with and without sign panels, high mast lighting structures, traffic signals, and light poles located at the New York and New Jersey approaches to the Lincoln Tunnel. SIE performed a 100% hands-on inspection of all high mast light towers, cantilever signs, butterfly signs, and sign bridges, including their components; SIE also performed a 100% visual and 10% hands-on inspection of all post mounted sign structures with panels greater than 10SF. The project also required ultrasonic thickness measurements at the base of each tubular steel and aluminum poles of at least 4 locations per pole base. Comprehensive field inspection forms and two Condition Survey Reports were prepared, which included all information on the condition of the existing structures and photographs of recommended repairs.
