Project Management Consultant Services for the ADA Accessibility Upgrade and Station Improvements of Twelve (12) Stations

As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided program management, construction management, and design compliance services to administer, oversee, and coordinate accessibility upgrades at twelve (12) stations throughout New York City.

The stations involved in Package 2 of this contract were Westchester Square, 181st Street, Queensboro Plaza, Court Square, Woodhaven Boulevard, Marcy Avenue, Flushing Avenue, and 8th Avenue. In Package 4, the involved stations are 95th Street, Northern Boulevard, Parkchester, and 137th Street – City College.

The scope of work involved the installation of ADA compliant elevators at each station, major structural and excavation work to expand the station envelope, extending and re-framing of platforms and / or mezzanines, electrical power and station communications system upgrades, relocation of utilities, reconstruction of platform edges and boarding areas, and re-aligning track with new platform edges. The scope also included state of good repair work at selected stations. This included platform and stair reconstruction, windscreen and canopy replacement, replacement of architectural finishes, structural steel and concrete repairs, and waterproofing.

SIE provided civil / utilities design and constructability review, construction management, safety, and quality oversight services.
