This project involved the inspection and rating of the Bayonne Bridge in accordance with the Port Authority’s standards. The scope of work included evaluation of structural stability, issuance of structural and safety flags based upon the field investigations, and inspection and compilation of reports.
As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) prepared repair schemes and provided onsite consultation for repair work. Hands-on inspections and assessments were conducted, including sounding of concrete to identify voids and potential problems. SIE staff evaluated various components’ conditions, and prioritized repair recommendations. Inspection reports were prepared, including supporting documents with recommendations, and submitted to the Port Authority.
