As a subconsultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided structural condition survey for 247 vent batteries consisting of 1,719 bays over 89 various blocks. The inspection included coordination with MTA for access and joint inspections with MOW. Additionally, SIE developed detailed inspection reports using the GPS location of each battery. Upon completion of the inspection reports, structural design details, specifications, and calculations were performed for battery locations which require repairs or modifications to ventilation bays/batteries and/or adjacent sidewalks. Included in this scope was the review of at least fifty (50) shop drawings and thirty (30) RFIs.
The inspection and reports, submitted within three (3) days of each inspection, include:
- Inspection locations
- Existing conditions, including structural assessments
- Measurements
- 360-degree photos with tag ID (date and location)
The design included 50%, 90%, final design, and signed and sealed submissions for specified structural design locations, including:
- Specifications
- Design Calculations
- Design Drawings
