This project entailed the installations of storm sewers and distribution water mains in Douglaston, Queens. The project commenced on 61st Avenue between 244th Street and 245th Place, as well as 60th Avenue between 245th Place and 246th Place. The scope of work involved the installation and rehabilitation of storm sewer and distribution water mains, tree pruning, catch basins installation, and final roadway, curb, and sidewalks reconstruction, including private utilities work.
As the prime consultant, SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) provided resident engineering inspection services for the project. SIE was responsible for implementing contract plans and specifications for the project, maintaining DDC standards, and inspection of the installation of sanitary and storm sewers, water main, and roadway restoration work. The project involved challenges related to construction on heavily travelled streets in New York.
